Photo sharing

Audio, video, and visual forms of communication add much value to development communication and knowledge sharing. They add spice to normal text presentations and can be used to illustrate and tell stories. Many development agencies are putting their images online.

A service like Flickr.com offer you the opportunity to upload, organize and publish your pictures. A similar service is available from Picasa.com

Pictures not only make your website or blog more attractive, they are an important way to document your work and to offer a different type of information to your users.

Once photos are uploaded and tagged, you can organize them in sets and republish them on a website with a simple badge, like the one below:

For an event or project, you can create groups, inviting other users to contribute their pictures. A similar result can be obtained by deciding on a common tag that all contributors use to describe their photos.
